CITI FIELD FOOD MAP.

citi_food_map.jpg

This is NOT to scale. This is NOT trying to be a map of the ballpark.  This is not even a very good map. I admit this. I am visual. I like diagrams. I threw this together because it was easier than trying to explain it to people.

My main objective was to give everyone approximate locations of food so that you, Mets fans, stand a fighting chance against the hordes of Red Sox Nation who are about to invade our fair realm. I want to see blue and orange in that early Shake Shack line, people!

I will also point you to what I think was the best article about the food at Citi Field, from NYC Food Guy. It’s a long, thoughtful, detailed post, with prices, great photographs, and everything you could possibly want to know about the food at Citi Field.

I will be attending Saturday’s game with some blogging colleagues, representing various teams, before heading to Cincinnati for Opening Day!  I am very excited for my first out-of-town Opening Day and my first Opening Day in the City of Cincinnati!  They have a PARADE!  Businesses close!

I will be on the road with my camera and laptop and will be updating the site throughout the weekend.

I am so happy that baseball is FINALLY HERE.

Hey caryn
Other than bud and Brooklyn lager what brands of beer do they serve?

Posted by Rustyjr  from  Staten island  on  04/02  at  08:52 AM

enjoy opening day in the ‘nati… the parade is fun… mostly a celebration of the long history of the reds (since 1869) i like to think they invented pro-ball and then 100 years later we prefected it…

just don’t expect anything to knock you off you feet foodwise… the local staples that are available at GABP are

skyline chilli: not really chilli more like mildly seasoned ground beef product… they serve it on pasta (yes i said pasta) or coneys (tiny hot dogs) with mustard and a mountain of mild (to the point of annoyance) cheddar,

larosas’ pizza: not worth even taking the time to smell it, which is the case for most pizza east of the garden state parkway.

montgomery inn bbq: decent pulled pork sandwich but nothing to write home about

beer wise christian moreline is a ver old local brand thats worth a taste, and last year we had a redlegs brew that was a really nice belgium white… not sure if they’ll have that but the moreline will be there no doubt…

the city has the best ice cream (graters) in the country but you can’t get it GABP, becasue the last ownership group also own United Dairy Farmers, which is pretty mediocre brand…

have fun and tip your vendors well…

Sorry, Rusty, what I know is here. I have written, I think, thousands of words. If I knew something… it would be here.

thanks, matt!! i am actually looking forward to the chili and montgomery inn… just probably not at the ballpark.

“traveling to cincy for opening day? wow, apparently someone has a lot of disposable income and/or free time ;) “

I’m sorry that the concepts of
1) a job
2) vacation days and
3) savings

are so foreign to you.

;)

Love the map.

World’s Fare is Daruma, Mama’s of Corona, a Grill (hot dogs, chicken, etc), and other pre-packaged food.

Blue Smoke has its own beer (one kind), and there’s a stand called Big Apple Brews which presumably will have more than just Bud (though Bud IS the beer of MLB)
