GOING, GOING….
...almost gone:
We were coming back from Long Island, and TBF made a comment about this was the route he always used to drive to Shea in his younger days, and we came around the corner and I said, “Hey, I can see the Citi Field sign from here” and then, silence, and then: “I wonder how much of it is left.”
“It’s just one more exit.”
It was eerie and odd, and yet we were not the only ones slowing our car down (although the only ones getting out of it). Tonight we said goodbye, although we thought we said it once, twice, this was it. It was standing there waving, as though it was a living, breathing sentient being: “Goodbye, Shea,” and blowing the ruins a kiss as we got into the car and drove away from Shea for the very last time.

verry sad indeed - just saw video from yesterdays demolition and it is heart wrenching - she was more than concrete and plastic she was like ugly betty - sure aesteticly she was dumpy - but she had a heart and soul that once you made it through the tunnel and you saw the field - you saw her inner beauty - sorry i know im rambling - but i cant beliee she is almost gone
