HERE’S A GUY ON THE METS THAT ACTUALLY WANTED TO WIN.
Meet Marlon Anderson. Marlon wanted to win the f’ing game.
I know that the umpire’s call was the right one - oddly enough, Derek Zumsteg (who wrote The Cheater’s Guide To Baseball) blogged about this rule two days before Marlon tried to salvage the game for the Mets. But I cannot be angry and am at least heartened that HE F’ING TRIED! HE TRIED! Why? Because he wanted to WIN!
No, the Mets can’t go breaking rules and cheating to win. But at least I have some tangible proof that someone cares.

So was David Wright getting thrown out in the 9th inning, so was Willie when he put in Wagner.
Maybe Jose Reyes started taking the lead forgranted(and who can blame him? The Mets haven’t lost ground in three months) and focusing too much on personal steal records. It sucks that the offensive downswing inevitable after 12 games of 5+ runs happened against Philly to let them back in it temporarily, but they’re still Charlie Brown to our Lucy.
Is it just me - or does anyone else think that Jose Reyes is just not well. Meaning, not injured per se, but like SICK, like mono or something. He just looks sluggish at the plate, sluggish on the field (didn’t he Dorn a couple of plays out there), sluggish on the basepaths (there he cannot be well). I just feel like he is trying to do too much. He just needs to get on base again.
