PEOPLE WHO DO GOOD STUFF.
I’m not talking about people who give up their seat on the subway to pregnant women and the elderly, or the ones considerate enough to exit the bus through the back door. I’m talking about people who go out there and actually DO SOMETHING to make people’s lives better.
My friend, Sharon Chapman, is running the New York City Half Marathon, the ING Rock ‘n’ Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon and the ING New York City Marathon 2010 as a member of Team McGraw for the Tug McGraw Foundation. The Foundation seeks to raise awareness and improve the quality of life for those patients and caregivers confronted with brain tumors.
Sharon also says:
Additionally, I am running these races on behalf of Connor McKean, a young Mets fan who was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor called an ependymoma on October 17th 2007. The Tug McGraw Foundation is funding the kind of research that will allow Connor to live the kind of life he lived prior to his diagnosis.
You can donate $$$ to Sharon’s fundraising efforts for Team McGraw here. Thanks for reading. Please pass this on.

Caryn,
Thank you for posting this and bringing more awareness to brain tumors and brain cancer. My mom was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer last May. I have since found that brain cancer does not receive much recognition in the cancer world although they are among the deadliest. How wonderful of your friend to run for such a great cause. My sister’s friend is also running in this race in honor of my mom.
Thanks!
Lori
