request to my readers.
Last year, after game 7, to cheer myself up I asked certain frequent fliers if they would out themselves in the comments - folks with distinctive enough IP addresses and/or domains that they were noticable. A lot of you de-lurked last week but I would love to hear from more folks. You don’t have to enter a real email address in the comments field & you don’t have to use your real name, but I would love to know who you are, how you found metsgrrl.com, and where you’re from (if you’re not from around here) - especially if you’re not a Mets fan and came here from another site. So, c’mon, delurk! Just once.

hmm… it’s odd actually de-lurking when once i was so active in the blogging community. Anyway, I found you through Mel @ emtwo. Mel and I once freelanced together. you’re the first Mets Blog I discovered. now i read 734285729 Mets blogs and have even been inspired to start my own next year. :) So, thanks!!
Hey, I actually have no idea how I found your site =)
I am from Flushing, Queens and can see Shea just right out of my window. We actually could hear the fans during the Grand Slam single by Robin Ventura back in 1999, quite amazing.
Now I spend most time in DC wrapping up college and working while supporting the Mets however I can~
I really enjoy your blog, especially the excellent photos, thanks!
I found you through MetsBlog, I believe. I am a central Jersey girl who grew up with grandparents who are Philly fans—and I became baseball-conscious in time to become a Mets fan in rebellion to the them (and because my older brother was a Mets fan!). Being born in ‘82 this was also, coincidentally, at a time when I was just old enough to think Darryl Strawberry was the coolest (or maybe it was just cool to have the word Strawberry on my shirt, since it was the time of Strawberry Shortcake). I followed as a young kid, lost it for too many years, and came back to truly following only in the last few years, once college wore off. I remember watching the Sox win the series from my college dorm in ‘04 and thinking - I really need to get back into following those Metsies again.. and so, a (wonderful) monster was reborn!
Love the site!
Hey MG—I had “come out” to you back when I discovered your blog… my Met Fan friend/co-worker “Gio” found your site, and forwarded it to me with the note “I thought you were the MetGrl?”—I had license plates on my car with METGRL for several years, but turned them in after 2005 thinking they were bad luck. And after getting my car keyed (no comment on what kind of fan I think did it). Anyway, I fell in love with your site immediately!! I love how you write, your pics are great, and you echo my sentiments on a regular basis.
At the time, I had a “regular” blog going for about a year, but you inspired me to create one specifically for the Mets, since most of my other readers couldn’t care less about them. I didn’t keep it up nearly as much as I should have, but now I can start fresh in the off-season (sob!) and with Spring Training (135 days away!)
Anyway, thanks for all your hard work with this… it’s been a blast going on this adventure with you the past few months.
Let’s Go ‘08 Mets!!
tracy
I found your blog when I was searching for other female baseball bloggers. I first de-lurked this summer when the MN Twins came over to play the Mets. I am a Twins fan first and foremost, based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota where I loyally go to as many Twins games as I can, even when they break my heart.
Maybe next year the Twins and Mets will play again. I vow to go to NY this time to see that happen. It would be nice to see Castillo in action again (grandpa knees and all.)
Muttering: I sure the hell don’t want to see the Twins at the Yankees. I can barely stand going to games when the Yankees are in town. End muttering.
Heck, if you are in the Midwest again let me know. Milwaukee isn’t that far away (plus they have the brewery tours and lots of cheese.)

Thank you all! it is just nice to know who is reading.
Jen, trust me that you don’t want to go to Yankee stadium. But if you ever do, I’ve got your back.
I haven’t been reading the blog long, but here it goes anyway.
I’m a college student from Burlington, VT. I found your site through Deanna’s Marinerds. I’ve been a life-long Mets fan, because my dad lived a few blocks away from Shea when he was growing up and I decided to follow them too. Plus, because I’ve lived in Vermont my entire life and everyone here is either a Yankee fan or a Red Sox, I liked when I told people I was a baseball fan and they asked me the question of “Yankees or Red Sox?” I could proudly say, “The Mets.”
Of course, being a Met fan is hard up here. It’s quite a commute to get to Shea and there’s no SNY, and our local cable provider decided to cut WPIX, even though we’ve had it for years. But I’ll manage to find a way to watch games next year.
You know who I am ... I’m your friend and I dig your writing and photos. I’m not a baseball (or any sports) fan but interested in the fandom. (I AM sorry the team didn’t come through for ya’ll this year.)
i cannot believe that you just commented on this blog! omg. :) :) :)
I comment enough, but I’m not sure how I found your site. I stepped up my commitment to the Mets this year by blogging, and reading blogs, and yours was one of the many that found it’s way into my readerlist early on.
I live in Valley Stream, have been a Mets fan all my life(although in that marathon game against Houston in ‘86 my 4 year old self was upset that the game made me miss Danger Mouse)
