THE NEW WORLD.

image

According to mets.com, that’s the view from our Promenade Infield seats.

We’re in.

Who else bought today?

Posted by Caryn at 12:16 PM

I am in.

Secured a 4-seater Friday in 514, and a 2-seater Weekender in 405.

Looks like we may be neighbors….

Posted by Doug  on  12/03  at  12:50 PM

OOOOOOO you can’t see in any dugouts…..

congrats guys i am scheduled for monday according to my letter is it a long process? tryin to figure if i should play hooky from work that day

Posted by rustyjr  from  staten island  on  12/03  at  01:15 PM

The check-out process should take no more than 5 minutes.  The biggest issue will be selecting your seats and plan(s).

There were no server issues.

Cheers!

thanx doug hopefully there will be good seats left on mon for the 525 buck seats on the sat plan

Posted by rustyjr  from  staten island  on  12/03  at  01:56 PM

Not yet…  I only had a Saturday plan last year, so I’m not scheduled to be able to buy in until next Monday. Save me a seat :-)

Posted by Ken  from  Poughquag, NY  on  12/03  at  02:00 PM

Rusty, do not fret. From what I heard, the Mets didn’t put all the inventory on sale today. It’s like buying ‘best available’ for a concert - ‘best available’ doesn’t mean that every single seat in the venue is for sale, it’s the ‘best available’ of the inventory the promoter chooses to put on sale at the time. So everybody still has a chance at good seats.

Other folks in our Section 12 group didn’t do as well and are in 527, but a much lower row. We decided we’d rather be behind home plate and higher up.

And yes we can see into the dugout, a little bit at least. Not the full on third base view, but if you play with the viewer, there is some view into the action.

thanks for the info metsgrrl i was in sect 25 of the mezz last year sat plan so u mightve seen me i wore a battery of jerseys but i also wore my tat-man special order jersey - no not for fernando lol but for my mets tatoo im still disapointed though that we won’t automaticlly be entitled to playoff tixx but i guess thats what happen when u sell yer soul to the all mighty dollar (fred , jeff ya listening?)

Posted by rustyjr  from  staten island  on  12/03  at  06:40 PM

I deleted a series of comments due to a comment offering to sell one’s right to purchase season tickets (which afaik isn’t transferrable since it’s linked to your personal account, but that’s irrelevant). Even if it was something you were just musing about out loud, I detest the mindset.

If you want to be one of those people who sells their playoff ticket codes, then please go to Craigslist and do it there. Not here.

You can go and talk about the free market and this being a free country and all of that elsewhere. Not here. I don’t have to pay for bandwidth so you can make every last cent off of other Mets fans. MLB already does that well enough. And you’re free to disagree with me - but I’m still not going to allow it on my web site.

Thanks.

good for u caryn ! im happy that u have the discretion to do that

Posted by rustyjr  from  s.i  on  12/04  at  01:16 PM

quick question
sice i pick on monday and i have no computer access at work will i still be able to buy tixx at say 5 pm??

Posted by rustyjr  from  staten island  on  12/04  at  08:20 PM

You’ll phyysically be able to buy them, but the question is, what inventory will be left?

I wouldn’t wait until 5.

Posted by caryn  on  12/04  at  08:23 PM

Yes.  You will have no problem buying at 5pm, if that is what you need to do.  The only problem will be that everyone else who also buys in ‘your wave’ MAY have purchased before you…  Therefore, the selection of seats will be smaller than if you jumped on at 10am.

Cheers!

i know im trying to convince my boss to let me go to lunch early lol hopefully i can get tixx closer to first base this time instead of sect 35

Posted by rustyjr  from  staten island  on  12/04  at  08:30 PM

oops meant 25 of the mezz

Posted by rustyjr  from  staten island  on  12/04  at  08:33 PM

I checked inventory this morning.  Actually, once your buy date passes, you can continue to access the inventory.  I guess as long as you don’t check out, you are fine.

As of 0950 Friday AM, for the plans I checked, there were still Prom Inf Res tix avail, but Row 17.

Prom OF Seats avail in 527, low rows, and Prom Box Seats in 430 and 403.

I didn’t check LF Landing seats.

Remember, the Club isn’t offering much behind the plate / in the infield.

Good luck, and let the rest of us know how you made out!

Cheers!

How were these waves determined?  I’m not able to pick until tomorrow, 12/12.  Last year I had a Saturday plan in the UR—I guess this is the lowest of the low plans?

Posted by mia  from  brooklyn  on  12/11  at  07:25 PM

...we don’t know, Mia. And I don’t think the Mets could even tell you.

It has something to do with your financial commitment and continuity of that commitment. At least that’s what we were told. Other people here seem to disagree. We’ll never know for sure.

they are supposed to be offering quantities of equal quality seats in each wave. we know someone else who is in our section but bought a week after us.

I wonder how the Prom - Outfield compare to Shea.  My old seats were in UR 19—do folks think that is Prom - Infield or Outfield?  I certainly don’t want to be further in the outfield, trying to decide whether it is worth the extra $90.

Posted by mia  from  brooklyn  on  12/11  at  07:36 PM

To Mia,

There are 17 rows of seats in the Promenade.  In the “Infield” Sections, Rows 1-12 are reserved for Full-Season Ticket Holders.  Rows 13-17 are for partials.  Being in Row 17 of the Prom Reserved Section is like being half way up the Upper Deck at Shea.

Your Shea seats are half-way out.  IIRC, you were probably just outside 1st base, but pretty far back from the field.

The biggest difference in Citi is that you are much closer to the field.  Those seats are probably classified as Prom INF, but marginally—your Shea seats are probably on the fence in this park.  If you are offered Prom Infield seats between the dugouts, I’d take them.  Otherwise, I’d take Prom OF seats and sit in a lower row.  But that’s just me…

Why not check out the 3D seat viewer and see for yourself?

OK turns out we are in section 520, row 14. Not a bad seat—our old Saturday seats were in Mezz 6, just under the overhang, so these are a little further out, but personally I’d rather be high up in the infield than lower down in the outfield. What’s going to be different for me is that we have gone down from 4 seats to 2 seats. We have 3 kids - one a very active toddler, one a 5yo girl who is bored with baseball, and a 9yo boy who likes it but is getting into his own stuff too. So - we took a weekday plan with 2 seats, husband will go with his friends or with the 9yo, and we will pick up the occasional weekend game to go as a family. (Or maybe we’ll just bring the kids to the Cyclones instead.)

Posted by CJ  from  Briarwood  on  12/12  at  11:39 AM

CJ, I hear you. Some of our Section 12 folks ended up with Row 1… but in Section 521. (Maybe it was 2 or 3… but it was very low down, just far out for us). They were buying 4 seats together so I think they did pretty well.

I figure come 2010 the cakewalk resumes. Although it seems like the mets just might want to be contenders this year.

Posted by caryn  on  12/12  at  12:55 PM

OK, here’s my update from this morning at 10am:

I first tried Saturday plan, Promenade Infield.  There were NO seats available.

I next tried Saturday plan, Promenate Outfield.  Best available was section 530 Row 8.

I then tried Weekend, Promenade Infield.  Section 513, Row 14—this is what I ended up getting.

Finally, I tried Weekend, Promenade Outfield.  Section 527, Row 3.

For us, sitting above home plate is more important than a low row as far out as even 527.  I just don’t like watching the game from that perspective.

Anyone in Section 513???  It will be strange getting used to going on a variety of days of the weekend, but fun, too.
